It has begun!

After many delays, construction on our new auditorium is finally underway. Horne Construction began removing parts of the parking lot Monday, May 19 and the concrete footings were poured this morning (May 21, 2003).

May 28: Blocks have been laid and fill dirt added to prepare for pouring the concrete slab.

After long rain delays, the concrete slab was poured June 23. Hopefully the pace of the work will pick up now since the weather will be less of a factor.

One wall is up! Workers expect a second wall to be framed by day's end (July 2)

And it was. The framing moved quickly

All the framing, inside and out is complete and sheeting has been hung. 

The inside rooms are framed. These are lobby and restroom walls.

I even have a new office! 

After a long, long wait, our trusses are now on site and construction can resume. All that could be done without them had already been done. Hopefully, the pace will now pick up.

Trusses were put together by 9/18/03.

Workers began setting trusses on 9/22/03. Rain stopped work that afternoon.

The vaulted trusses started going up 9/23/03.
